What do we mean by folk music?

We take the view that folk music is music that folk play.

So, in a typical club night, you will hear a wide range of music, typically but not exclusively of a folk, roots & acoustic style. We have a PA system which performers are welcome to use (or not as they prefer).

The performers may accompany themselves on an instrument or sing unaccompanied. We even have occasional poems or monologues.

How many songs can I play?

That depends on the attendance on the night!

The normal format is:

• Two songs each in the first "half"
• One more song in the second "half" for as many as we can fit in

We occasionally have artists doing a Big Slot so might be allocated more time.

How do I join?

We don't have a membership fee. Just come along and join in!

We do not charge an entrance fee but we will encourage you to buy a raffle ticket (or several!).
